Happiness and signs of happiness vary from person to person and in different situations. One person can be punching the air and laughing out loud, whereas someone else can sit peacefully looking serene and content. Both people may be experiencing happiness, but it is showing itself in different ways. Happiness can also be a momentary experience, or a state of mind. Generally however, we are all striving for the latter, to be happy and self fulfilled in our lives.

Dr Timothy J. Sharp of the Happiness Institute in Sydney, Australia, has compiled a sheet called "What happy people do". It is a list of the types of behaviors used by happy people as is designed as a guide to instruct people to consciously practice these behaviors.

Happy People ensure they get enough sleep. Sleep is an important contributing factor to happy behavior. If someone is not getting enough sleep, they can find it hard to deal with certain situations and maintain a positive outlook.

Happy People think optimistically. Positive thinking has great influence on happy behavior.

Happy People recognize their strengths and use them daily. Recognizing your strengths and using them to frequently reach your goals brings a sense of achievement, which is closely linked to happiness.

Happy People build positive relationships. Happy people are generally surrounded by a strong support network of friends and family.

Happy People are appreciative and show gratitude. Happy people tend to have a strong sense of self worth and therefore are able to recognize and appreciate the value of others.

Happy People are goal setters and give themselves challenges. Happy people generally have high self esteem and a "can do" attitude which makes them keen and willing to take on new challenges and set goals.

Happy People vary their routines. Because happy people are goal setters they are prepared to try things that they have not experienced before, giving a change to their routines and every day lives.

More and more it is believed that happiness is a choice and a state of mind that can be achieved. Employing the use of behaviors associated with happiness is one step towards achieving actual happiness and fulfillment.

Does-Money-Bring-Happiness      Would having more money make you happier as a person? There are many arguments to suggest that it would. Numerous problems and stresses come from having too little money. Money can buy us the things that we associate being happy with, such as a holiday, tickets to a game or a trip to a spa. Money can help us achieve goals, like a good education for our kids or the ability to improve our skills at something we enjoy, a sport or a hobby perhaps. However, studies consistently seem to show that money and happiness do not have an overly strong connection, and that other factors such as relationships and outlook have a much greater bearing on a persons overall happiness.
